It is highly desirable to observe fast on the 13th, 14th and 15th of Rajab. The following is narrated through a chain of documents to my grandfather Abi Ja‟far al-Tusi narrated on the authority of Imam As-Sadiq (as): “God would record the fasting and staying up at night of one year for whoever fasts during the thirteenth, fourteenth and fifteenth days of Rajab. He would stand in the position of those who are secure on the Resurrection Day.”

Have a Ghusl/bath each day
give alms in the way of Allah.

Namaz 1 : It has been reported from the Holy Prophet (peace and blessing be upon his family): Whoever recites on the thirteenth night of Rajab, a 10 (5x2) Raka' prayer, reciting in the first Raka' Sura Fatiha and Sura Adiyaat once, and in the second unit reciting Sura Fatiha and Sura Takathur once each, Allah would forgive him even if he has been damned by his parents, neither Munkar nor Nakir would not approach or frighten him and he would cross the Bridge like lightning and his Record of Deeds would be handed to his right hand and his Record of Deeds would be made heavier in his favor and he would be granted one-thousand towns in Paradise.

Niyyah - Qurbatan Ilallah
* Ist Unit : Surah Fatiha once and Sura Adiyaat once
*2nd Unit : Surah Fatiha once and Surah Takathur once

Namaz 2 : Know that it is mustahab to offer a two rak’at prayer on 13th night of the months of Rajab, Sha’ban and Ramadhan, with al-Fatiha recited once along with the Surahs Ya Sin, al-Mulk and al-Tawhid in each rak’at.

The 13th day is first of the so-called Ayyam al Bid (pl. of abyad, i.e. bright, shiny) and the traditions mention a great deal of reward for those who fast on this and two following days.’ Those intending to perform the observance of Umm Dawd should observe their first fast on this day.
On this day, according to the commonly held opinion, occurred the auspicious birth of Amirul Mominin Ali ibn Abi Talib (as) inside the Holy Ka’bah in the 30th Year of the Elephant.

Namaz 1 : It has been reported from the Holy Prophet (peace and blessing be upon his family): Whoever recites on the fourteenth night of Rajab, a 30 (15x2) Raka' prayer, reciting in each unit Sura Fatiha, Sura Ikhlaas, Aya 110 of Sura Kahf once each, I swear by Him who controls my life that he would finish his prayer perfectly purified even if his sins are more than the stars in the sky and it would be as if he has recited the whole Book that the Sublime God has sent down.

30 Unit (15x2)
Niyyah - Qurbatan Ilallah
* Ist Unit : Surah Fatiha once and Sura Ikhlaas once and Surah Kahf Verse 110 once
*2nd Unit : Surah Fatiha once and Sura Ikhlaas once and Surah Kahf Verse 110 once

Namaz 2 : On the 14th night also, offer four rak’ahs with two salam in the same manner

This is a blessed night and there are several observances pertaining to it.

Namaz 1 : It is recommended to offer a prayer consisting of 30 units in each of which one should recite Surah al-Fatihah one time and Surah al-Tawheed ten times. Sayyid Ibn Tawus has reported this prayer from the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) with an abundant reward.

30 Unit (15x2)
Niyyah - Qurbatan Ilallah
* Ist Unit : Surah Fatiha once and Surah al-Tawheed ten times
*2nd Unit : Surah Fatiha once and Surah al-Tawheed ten times

Namaz 2 : 6 rak’ahs on the 15th night in the same manner with three salams. According to a report from Imam Ja’far al-Sadiq (as), one who performs this observance during these months partakes of the entire blessings of these months and is forgiven all sins except that of shirk.

Namaz 3 (Optional) : 12 rak’at prayers in sets of two 6 x 2, In each rak’at after Surat al-Hamd recite

After salam say 4 times:

Namaz 4 (Optional): Another method of Namaz 3 - However, Shaykh Tusi writes in the Misbah, Dawud b Sirhan narrates from Imam Ja’far al-Sadiq (as) that he said: Perform a twelve-rak’at prayer on the 15th night of Rajab as follows:
12 Unit (6x2)
Niyyah - Qurbatan Ilallah
* Ist Unit : Surah Fatiha once and Any Surah once
*2nd Unit : Surah Fatiha once and Any Surah once

After the prayer, recite :
(Surah al-Fatiha, Surah al-Falaq, Surah al-Nas, Surah al-Tawhid and Ayat al-Kursi) x 4 times
After that say 4 times, Tasbeehat e Arba 4 times

Then say 4 times,

50 unit Namaz before Zawal, whosoever offer 50 units before zawal on 15th of Rajab in which every unit he must recite Surah Fatiha, Surah Tawhid, Surah Falaq and Surah Nas once each will be as free of sins as newborns and will have all his requests granted.

اللّٰهُمَّ يَا مُذِلَّ كُلِّ جَبَّار، وَيَا مُعِزَّ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ، أَنْتَ كَهْفِى حِينَ تُعْيِينِى الْمَذاهِبُ، وَأَنْتَ بارِئُ خَلْقِى رَحْمَةً بِى، وَقَدْ كُنْتَ عَنْ خَلْقِى غَنِيّاً، وَلَوْلا رَحْمَتُكَ لَكُنْتُ مِنَ الْهالِكِينَ، وَأَنْتَ مُؤَيِّدِى بِالنَّصْرِ عَلَىٰ أَعْدائِى، وَلَوْلا نَصْرُكَ إِيَّاىَ لَكُنْتُ مِنَ الْمَفْضُوحِينَ يَا مُرْسِلَ الرَّحْمَةِ مِنْ مَعادِنِها، وَمُنْشِئَ الْبَرَكَةِ مِنْ مَواضِعِها، يَا مَنْ خَصَّ نَفْسَهُ بِالشُّمُوخِ وَالرِّفْعَةِ فَأَوْلِياؤُهُ بِعِزِّهِ يَتَعَزَّزُونَ، وَ يَا مَنْ وَضَعَتْ لَهُ الْمُلُوكُ نِيرَ الْمَذَلَّةِ عَلَىٰ أَعْناقِهِمْ فَهُمْ مِنْ سَطَواتِهِ خائِفُونَ، أَسْأَلُك بِكَيْنُونِيَّتِكَ الَّتِى اشْتَقَقْتَها مِنْ كِبْرِيائِكَ، وَأَسْأَلُك بِكِبْرِيائِكَ الَّتِى اشْتَقَقْتَها مِنْ عِزَّتِكَ، وَأَسْأَلُك بِعِزَّتِكَ الَّتِى اسْتَوَيْتَ بِها عَلَىٰ عَرْشِكَ فَخَلَقْتَ بِها جَمِيعَ خَلْقِكَ فَهُمْ لَكَ مُذْعِنُونَ أَنْ تُصَلِّىَ عَلَىٰ مُحَمَّدٍ وَأَهْلِ بَيْتِهِ.

اے معبود ! اے ہر سرکش کو سرنگوں کرنے والے مومنوں کو عزت دینے والے تو ہی میرے پناہ ہے، جب راستے مجھے تھکا کہ رکھ دیں اور تو ہی اپنی رحمت سے مجھے پیدا کرنے والا ہے جب کہ تو میری پیدائش سے بے نیاز تھا اور اگر تیرے رحمت میرے شامل حال نہ ہوتی تو میں تباہ ہونے والوں میں سے ہوتا اور تو ہی دشمنوں کے مقابل میری نصرت کر کے مجھے طاقت دینے والا ہے اور اگر تیرے مدد حاصل نہ ہوتی تو میں رسوا شدہ لوگوں میں سے ہوتا. اے اپنے خزانے سے رحمت بھیجنے والے اور با برکت جگہوں سے برکت ظاہر کرنے والے اے وہ جس نے خود کو بلندی اور برتری کے ساتھ خاص کیا . پس اس کے دوست اس کی عزت کے زریعے عزت دار ہیں اور اے وہ جس کی غلامی کا طوق بادشاہوں نے اپنی گردنوں میں ڈال رکھا ہے اور وہ اس کے دبدبے سے ڈرتے ہیں میں تجھ سے سوال کرتا ہوں تیری آفرنیش کے ذریعے جو تو نے اپنی بڑائی سے ظاہر کیا اور سوال کرتا ہوں تیری بڑائی کے ذریعے جسے تو نے اپنی عزت سے نمایاں کیا اور سوال کرتی ہوں تیری عزت کے ذریعے جس سے تو نے اپنے عرش پر حاوی ہے پس اسی سے تو نے ساری مخلوق کو پیدا کیا جو سب تیرے فرمانبردار ہیں یہ کہ تو رحمت فرما محمّد (ص ) اور ان کے اہلبیت پر

Translation : ‘O Allah, humiliator of all tyrants and honorer of the faithful you are my haven when the diverse paths leave me at a loss. You brought me into being out of Your mercy, though you had no need to create me, and had it not been for Your mercy I would have perished. you strengthen me with Your help against my enemies, and were it not for Your aid, I would have been humiliated. ‘O sender of mercy from its reserves, and the producer of blessing from its origins! O you who have arrogated sublimity and highness, whence Your friends take pride in Your might. O You in front of whom the kings wear the yoke of lowliness around their necks, being fearful of your power. I seek You by Your Absoluteness which You have caused to derive from Your Supremacy; I seek You by Your Supremacy which You have caused to derive from Your Might. I seek You by Your Might whereby You preside on Your Throne, and whereby You have created Your entire creatures, who submit to You, to send salutations upon Muhammad and his Family.

It is mentioned ln a report that those who supplicate the Almighty God with this supplication are relieved from affliction and grief.
